For us, slow fashion has always meant designing with care, making thoughtfully, and inviting our customers into the story.
With this in mind, pre-orders have been something we've explored in the past.
Pre-orders are extremely helpful in reducing production and inventory wastage. If pieces are already accounted for before they go into production, we can avoid cutting fabric and creating pieces that may never be worn.
So far, we've explored pre-orders in a couple of ways:
- On specific releases to meet popular demand
- On a specific fabric so you could pick the style
This time round however, we thought we'd do things a little differently.
Behind the Seams: The Challenge of Choice in Slow Fashion
As we produce in small-batches to avoid overstocking, we have to decide which fabrics to cut and which styles to produce, all the name of creating a cohesive collection.
It’s part of the creative process, but it does also means limiting possibilities. It's also a tough part of each collection because we're not sure what styles people are hoping to see in which fabricsSo, with this round of pre-orders, instead of us deciding what makes it into production, you get to be part of that choice. You select the style you love, and the fabric you want it in.
For this pre-order, we're working with existing yardage from our workshop, transforming what we have, into pieces that fit into your wardrobe and lives. Some of these fabrics are available in such limited quantities that they will only produce a few more pieces.
How This Pre-Order Works
We’re starting with a curated set of three mainstay wrap dress designs, each available for pre-order in 10 fabric choices.
